British Experts Rushing to Kerala to Rescue Stranded F-35B Lightning Jet — Mission Begins July 5

A high-level British aviation team is set to land in Kerala on July 5 to begin a critical recovery operation for a stranded F-35B Lightning II fighter jet, which was forced to remain grounded due to technical issues.

The stealth aircraft, part of a British military fleet, made an unscheduled stop in southern India during a transit mission. Due to its highly sophisticated design and sensitive technology, only authorized experts from the UK are permitted to work on the jet. Local aviation authorities have secured the site and are coordinating with British defense personnel to ensure safety and compliance with international defense protocols.

Sources say the issue is not a crash but a precautionary halt due to a minor fault that requires specialized attention. The F-35B is one of the world’s most advanced fighter jets, known for its stealth capabilities and vertical landing technology, making this a rare and high-profile situation in Indian aviation history.

The British team will assess, repair, and oversee the aircraft’s safe departure from India, marking an unusual but important event in Indo-British defense cooperation.
